Tough Weekend and Bleh Tuesday

So I was going to post hands from the weekend's play, but I'm lazy and never got around to it. I finished the weekend down around $30, so it wasn't a horrible weekend financially, but it felt awful.

I played a $5 MTT today at 6pm. Here are a few hands from it.

Final Pot: t1725

Hero has Jh Jc (one pair, jacks).

CO has Ts Ks (one pair, tens).

Outcome: Hero wins t1725.

This hand basically played itself. I check back the flop in order to get action from non-queen hands on the turn. The turn bet is what I was trying to accomplish with the flop bet. Then, on the river, I bet for value against his random 9's. Turns out that he called turn with a gutshot and paid off when he hit his ten. This pot gave me a pretty good stack for the level.

This hand was very standard. Tough runner-runner, but that's life. I chip up a bit over the next few levels until the following comes up.

This was a tough call. I think I have to call here if I'm raising pre. I only need around thirty five percent equity if his range is a very tight 22+, A5s+, A7o+, KJs+, KQo. As a result, I'm pretty much breaking even on the call against that range. Unlucky that he had AQs, but lucky suck out. That leads to the following.

Hands like these frustrate me. I was not looking to get 3 callers preflop with that raise. Once I did, I don't think I can C-bet profitably even on that flop. I think I need to fold the turn against three opponents though. Then, two hands later, this came up.

I don't know if the raise pre is any good. This was a very loose table, with three players having a forty plus VPIP. I am also pretty sure the flop bet is not good against two opponents with my stack. But I'm a sucker for the C-bet. This crippled me. I then proceeded to go pretty card-dead. I blinded down to around 6 bb's with people open limping all over the place. I decided to just fold into a cash, since that's probably my most +$EV move at this point. Once we were in the money, I raised twice pre with 3 bb's and won the blinds and antes both times (horrible folds by the BB in both cases). Then, the following comes up.

I think this is a pretty easy call. This guy was incredibly short, and he must have noticed that the BB was sitting out. If he isn't raising incredibly wide here, he's doing something very wrong. As a result, I can call very wide profitably. After this, I proceeded to hover around this stack by open-shoving decent hands in good spots. And then this happens.

Normally I open shove here, but everyone at this table was so bad that I can safely assume they have no idea of the stack size implications of this raise. I was right in that someone might do something spazzy with my raise size. This gave me a 15bb stack, a fairly confortable position for me with the skill of the players around me. After an orbit of folding and having the blinds go up, I'm back to 10bbs, and in open-shoving mode, when the following comes up with me in the BB.

The converter messed this up a bit. I won 37k on this pot, which is just about the best possible outcome I could have hoped for. This gave me a top fifteen stack in the tournament with about 100 left. Still in with 24 left. Will update with results in a day or two. Thanks for reading.
